And Another Start:

The problem with writing a blog; or any kind of public collection of anything (in this case, hopefully music) is that it is impossible to be as authentic as you want to be. Your life isn’t completely your own.

When I know someone, and talk to them, I want to give them the whole picture. You should see I in full painful, heartbreaking, humilliating context – because it’s in that vunerability that empathy is made. I feel like we often forget – in a world that tell each of us that we need to stick to our own insta-brand in order to become and remain successful – that vunerability is beautiful, and that it comes from a deep rooted strength that is planted within each individual. We should be messy, we should be complicated and we definitely should get things wrong, consistently. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be human.

The problem is with this philosophy, is that, even if you are okay with metaphorically “baring all”… the rest of the people in your world may not be. We experience world through other people and their stories, all tangled up in our own. If I was to bare everything, I wouldn’t be exposing myself, but everyone else around me, the systems that keep us in line, the beliefs that we have built our foundations onto that keep us functioning. What I see is always from my own perspective, but what I see is also too much, and I am so opinionated that I really don’t think the world needs all of that.

So, what does a girl do?

she sings songs instead.
